About EGGE

Welcome to EGGE

EGGE is a fashion label by Munich designers Tanja Eggebrecht and Tobias Kalkowsky, which opens in spring 2024 with 9 pieces.
EGGE is a lifestyle brand in the upscale segment of ready-to-wear fashion. The brand stands for playful designs, sustainable production and a close connection to our creative community. We look forward to meeting you.

The founders

Tanja Eggebrecht worked as a fashion designer and has a strong background in digital print design (including at Central Saint Martins in London). Her designs are characterized by a playful exploration of the past and present.

Tobias Kalkowsky is a lecturer in agile product development at Europe's largest center for innovation and startups. His mission is to produce fashion that uses processes that are just as innovative as those used by the digital industry. In his opinion, a value chain that is constantly improving itself leads to greater satisfaction among customers and employees and is therefore the foundation for sustainable brands in harmony with nature and people.

That's why EGGE focuses on products that last beyond seasonal trends. The use of high-quality materials and thoroughly tested production techniques create EGGE pieces that can and will be appreciated for many years.

The stylistics

EGGE's DNA is bold and extroverted, characterized by childlike and nostalgic elements as well as a cheerful charisma. The focus is on the hand-drawn prints. Tanja is constantly experimenting with artificial intelligence in her designs and prints, blurring the boundaries between tradition and the big data era in an innovative way. We are aimed at independent creatives who want to express their individual style.

sustainability

The fashion industry is very much about novelty and consumption, which is in stark contrast to the concept of sustainability. That is why, in our eyes, fashion is very rarely sustainable. That is unfortunately the sad truth.

But that is precisely why it is crucial for us to act as responsibly and transparently as possible.

Our individual made-to-order principle allows us to keep our quantities small and thus produce in an environmentally friendly way and avoid waste. We manufacture as locally as possible near our headquarters in Munich to avoid long transport routes. This allows the parts to be produced quickly and avoids long waiting times for our customers. We attach great importance to a realistic and down-to-earth adaptation of our production lines to our growth.

Our production partners are carefully selected: we have been fortunate to build close relationships with small, specialised manufacturers in Germany and Italy. By producing in Germany, we have access to very high-quality manufacturers and can ensure that the people who make your goods are paid and treated appropriately.

Our fabrics are made from natural or recyclable fibers and are printed especially for us in Italy.
Thanks to funding from the MakerSpace at UnternehmerTUM Munich, we have access to fantastic workshops and equipment that offer us many possibilities in developing our products.
